National Theatre Live

Love Theatre? Love Wivenhoe House as the Lakeside Theatre, just five minutes’ walk away, will be showing live National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company productions from November.

Some of the best productions from the best theatre venues in the country will be projected live into the theatre, starting at 7.30 pm, giving you enough time to enjoy dinner in the brasserie before a short walk to your comfy seat.

The first screenings feature the most acclaimed playwrights in modern history: Terence Rattigan, Bertolt Brecht, Harold Pinter, George Bernard Shaw and Henrik Ibsen. The series launches on 3 November with NT Encore’s The Deep Blue Sea by Terence Rattigan, starring Helen McRory, followed on 1 December with The Threepenny Opera by Bertold Brecht, starring Rory Kinnear.

Tickets can be booked via www.lakesidetheatre.org.uk and tables in the brasserie, which opens its evening service at 5.30 pm, can be reserved on 01206 863666.
