Barry and Emma

We had already been to a friend’s wedding at Wivenhoe House and there was no doubt in our minds that this was where we wanted to celebrate our special day with friends and family.

After attending our Wedding Open Day in February last year, Barry and Emma arranged a meeting with our resident wedding planner, Louise. Before the evening had passed, the couple had set the date for December and opted for the Rebow package, which includes a luxury stay in one of our Exclusive Rooms on the night of the wedding.

Wivenhoe House is such a stunning building, inside and out. We really do love it.

Fifty friends joined Barry and Emma on their special day for a delicious three-course wedding breakfast, with more guests arriving in the evening for their party with a live DJ.

The whole day was amazing,” said Emma. “But my favourite part has to be watching my future husband walk down the aisle.

Emma and Barry chose to put a unique spin on their wedding cake, instead opting for a scrumptious collection of freshly-baked cupcakes. The couple took the same unique approach to their wedding favours, taking the time to package the carefully selected gifts in beautiful heart-shaped boxes.

Louise was absolutely amazing and so helpful when arranging our perfect wedding day.

Claire and Darron

Once we had visited Wivenhoe House, it all just seemed to come together. Walking in through the beautiful entrance still takes my breath away. The team there is so helpful, nothing is too much trouble.

After a detailed consultation with one of our Wedding Planners, Claire and Darron knew exactly where to go to choose the perfect dress and floral arrangements. Having shared their ideal colour scheme, we were able to recommend the best places for the couple to create the ideal aesthetic for their special day.

Their wedding cake, from Marie’s Cakes, provided something for everyone:

It was amazing,” said Claire, “It was three tiers with a vegan carrot top, a lemon middle and vanilla on the bottom. Flowers in cream and burgundy spiralled down the sides.

Claire and Darron were keen to inject an element of fun into the proceedings, providing scratch cards for their adult guests and colouring books and bubbles for the children. We worked closely with Dreamwaves to style the couple’s venue and organise an evening of entertainment, with the soundtrack from The Greatest Showman providing the audio backdrop for Claire and Darron’s first dance.

Louise at Wivenhoe House was our wedding planner, and I cannot thank her enough for putting my mind at ease. When I felt I was getting stressed, she was there at the end of the phone. Louise and the team made my dream wedding come true.

Sarah and Ben

I’d been to Wivenhoe House for work a few times and knew what a great place it is” said Sarah, “I particularly love the architecture.

Sarah and Ben were already familiar with Wivenhoe House, but it was the beautiful architecture and aesthetic of our building that made it the perfect venue for their special day. Our dedicated wedding team at Wivenhoe House were able to ensure the day ran smoothly, giving the couple the opportunity to relax and enjoy their afternoon ceremony.

The great thing about Wivenhoe House is that everything is under one roof. Once the ceremony was over, we had drinks on the lawn while the photographer took pictures.

After seeing the fantastic pictures at a friends wedding, the couple chose David Islip to capture a mixture of traditional posed wedding photos and natural candid shots throughout the special day.

We made sure there was lots of wine on the tables plus jugs of Pimm’s for that extra summery touch.

Keen to play up their summer wedding, Sarah and Ben worked closely with our Wedding Planners and added an unexpected twist to their wedding meal and opted for a barbecue and plenty of summer drinks to keep it light and refreshing. They had their guests join them in the evening for a live singer and DJ set.
