Welcoming Jill, from Room to Reward

We are very pleased to announce that we are now partners of the Room to Reward scheme.

Room to Reward is a unique volunteer-recognition charity created to say ‘thank you’ to the Hidden Heroes – inspirational volunteers who give up their time to make a difference to those who need it most.

We donate our unsold rooms to this charity, and organisations then nominate their Hidden Heroe for a relaxing break.

This month we were delighted to welcome our first ‘Hidden Hero’ from the scheme, Jill.

‘Jill volunteers at Hanningfield Reservoir Visitor Centre where her commitment and no fuss attitude make her stand out. She has been volunteering for over 20 years and still makes everyone smile. We estimate that Jill’s hourly contribution over the years has been worth the equivalent of almost 170,000.

She is a brilliant ambassador for the Essex Wildlife Trust and acts as a role model and mentor to other volunteers. Jill is passionate about protecting our wildlife and has raised tens of thousands of pounds for the RSPB and EWT. She has undoubtedly made a significant difference to EWT over many years with her outside fundraising and her commitment to visitors.’
