Our hotel can accommodate up to 80 guests in 40 rooms & suites. Some of our rooms can accommodate children on sofa beds.

We are licensed for up to 100 guests in the Drawing Room and 120 guests on our Sunken Lawn. For more intimate weddings we can set up to 40 in our Signatures Lounge.

For the civil ceremony you can have live music or provide us with a playlist of pre-recorded tracks to play via our speaker system.

Yes, it is the couple’s responsibility to book & arrange the Registrar with Essex County Council, your planner will give you the full details should you be interested in having your wedding at Wivenhoe House Hotel.

We ask for artificial in the ceremony areas but you can have real for the reception décor. We ask that they are in holders slightly bigger than the candle. Please speak to your planner to discuss your ideas in detail.

Yes, you are very welcome to hire a band. We just ask they finish at 11pm.

Dogs are permitted to be a part of your wedding day, we do however ask that they are chaperoned for the enjoyment of yourselves and them. We can recommend local pet sitters/wedding chaperones.

A non-refundable deposit of 25% based on the full value is due along with the signed booking form. Further 25% is due 6 months prior to your wedding date and the final balance is due 1 month prior.
