THE HEAT IS ON
To get everything organised for Christmas!  Here at Wivenhoe House we have chosen our party theme, selected our Christmas crackers and finalised the menus. All the details of our celebrations are now available. We’re heading to the North Pole with our Arctic theme party nights, some of which have already been sold out, so get your skates on!

FISH FRIDAY
Our Friday fish nights continue to be popular in the brasserie. Taking place on the first Friday of every month, start with a glass of fizz on arrival before helping yourself to our extensive seafood buffet to start. Then choose from a selection of main courses before squeezing in one of our delicious desserts.

SIZZLING SUMMER OFFERS
If a staycation is on the cards for this summer, we have some sizzling offers for you. Essex has more than 350 miles of coastline and the resorts of Clacton, Walton-on-the-Naze, Mersea and Frinton are just half an hour away from Wivenhoe House hotel. So you can enjoy the pleasure of the British beach resort and the tranquillity of parkland in one holiday.

JAZZ AFTERNOON TEA
Things are hotting up on the music scene at Wivenhoe House on  Bank Holiday Monday 27 August when Good Time Jazz will be taking us back to the golden Jazz era of the 1920s and 1930s while afternoon tea is served in our beautiful grounds. Tickets are now available for this glorious afternoon.

HERITAGE OPEN DAY
We’re hoping for sunshine on Sunday 9 September when we open up our grounds for Heritage Open Day, inviting artists to take up their easels and follow in the footsteps of John Constable.

By car:

Whether approaching Wivenhoe House from London and the South or Ipswich and the North via the A12, take the exit marked Colchester (A133). Follow the A133 towards Clacton, ignore the entrance to the Knowledge Gateway, continue along the A133 then take the B1028 for Wivenhoe before turning right into Boundary Road, then right again into Park Road. The entrance for Wivenhoe House is shared with the University of Essex but Park Road leads you through Wivenhoe Park and you will be able to see the glorious house from the road.

For Sat Nav please use CO7 9HT and then follow signage to Wivenhoe House. Please note, some Sat Navs may direct you to the wrong side of Wivenhoe Park so please check our PDF Map

By train:

Colchester station, Colchester Town station, Wivenhoe station and Hythe stations are all between 10-15 minutes from Wivenhoe House by car. Trains run between London (Liverpool Street) and Colchester station every 10-20 minutes. The journey takes around an hour. Also connect with Colchester from Norwich, Ipswich, Felixstowe & Harwich. Some trains from London (Liverpool Street) also stop at Wivenhoe Station. When travelling from the Clacton/Walton direction, alight at Wivenhoe or Hythe Stations.


By plane:

Stansted airport is approximately 45 minutes from Wivenhoe House by car. Helicopter pad coordinates are 603200/223900.
