During the early nineteenth century, Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford started the tradition of sending cards to her friends asking them to join her for “tea and a walking the fields”, and with this in mind, we would like to invite you to indulge in the tradition by exploring our beautiful grounds followed by this extraordinary Tea experience.
Wivenhoe House presents High tea at the House, an exclusive Tea Masterclass and eight course High Tea held in our beautiful, traditional Signatures room. This prestigious event, held in afternoon will be led by Tea sommelier Chris Holdys who inspired our Edge Hotel School undergraduates with the idea of bringing history back to Constable Country. Like in the words of the well-known song, ‘at half past three, everything stops for tea’, our High Tea event will start with Champagne on arrival, followed by a Tea Masterclass, in which you will get a taste of the accompanying teas of the evening that have been paired with our delicious four savory and four sweet dishes served in time-honoured silver service style to add to the experience
