Directions to Wivenhoe House

Please note that due to ongoing roadworks in Colchester, travel to and from Wivenhoe House may be interrupted. Here we have put together a handy guide to the latest information and some alternative routes

About the Ipswich Road,  & Harwich Road Scheme

The scheme will see the replacement of the double roundabouts located at Ipswich Road and Harwich Road with a single roundabout at each location. The carriageway between Ipswich Road and Harwich Road junctions will also be widened to accommodate two formal lanes in each direction. The scheme will include upgrading existing pedestrian crossings to signal controlled crossings and general improvements to the current off-carriageway cycle and footway provisions.

October 2018

The southern side of Ipswich Road, Colchester will be closed from 07.00 on 02/10/18 for a duration of 4 weeks. This is to allow Anglian water to safely undertake diversionary works across the main road. Full diversions will be put in place and signage will be symbolised with a square (as there is also a Highways England diversion in place for night works on the A12 which brings them through the works).
