Wivenhoe House employee of the month Craig Preece, has chosen Colchester and Tendring Women’s Refuge as his charity.
As a result the Refuge has received a voucher for afternoon tea for two, which they will offer as a prize in a fund-raising raffle.
“It was a lovely surprise,” said Lorna King, manager of the Refuge. “The raffle will help raise money towards buying bedding for the women and children who stay here. We like to give brand new linen to our residents which they can then take with them when they move to a new home.”
General Manager at Wivenhoe House Oliver Brown said: “Each month we choose a staff member as employee of the month and, as a new initiative, we have decided to donate an afternoon tea for two to the charity of their choice. Craig has been with the hotel since it opened in 2012 as our night porter and is a valued member of the team.”
