Conference & Events Operations Team Leader
Wivenhoe House, is a four-star country house hotel with a busy and dynamic Conference & Events department. Following an extensive, £11million refurbishment six years ago, and due to an internal restructure in our Conference & Events Department we are now recruiting for an additional C&E Team Leader. This is an exciting opportunity for a person with excellent, hands on C&E operations experience to join our team in a busy and challenging environment which includes a 110-cover modern Brasserie and 120 cover banqueting facilities.
The successful candidate will join our busy Conference & Events team working with students of the Edge Hotel School. If you are able to deliver customer service to a high standard, communicate effectively with clients and colleagues and have exceptional attention to detail then we would like you to join our team. Candidates will have experience of working at a similar level within a similar operation and can demonstrate professionalism and composure whilst working under pressure in an often fast paced environment. This is a shift based role including late finishes and weekend working.
You will ideally have practical experience at a similar level in the hospitality industry and will have a good working knowledge of setting up, functions weddings, parties, conferences, etc including the running and closing down of such. This is a hands on role and you will also need to be confident in meeting customer/guest expectations and have an understanding of the use of tills, cash management and bar work. Moving of tables, chairs and equipment required for set up are also part of the role. An NCPLH qualification may be of benefit but is not essential. Experience of training staff would also be an advantage as the Hotel also works with students of the Edge Hotel School.
Duties of the Post
The main duties of the post will include the setting up and running of conferences, events, weddings and parties making sure guest expectations are met and service excellence is delivered in accordance with hotel standards at all times. As well as standard setting up, running and closing down of daily events you will also be required to assist with training of students coach them in tasks required by the Conference & Events Department. The ideal candidate will have had previous experience in hospitality and at four star level, preferably qualified to NVQ L5. You will also have exceptional attention to detail, good communication skills and be able to work well under pressure.
