The latest news & offers from Wivenhoe House in April 2018

Bon appetit

We’ve always thoroughly enjoyed the wine recommendations of our knowledgeable Sommelier Lionel, whatever the occasion. He is now bringing his Gallic flair to the menu in the brasserie with the introduction of Menu de Lionel, a special six course dinner taking Lionel back to his French roots. Of course he is always happy to recommend wine to accompany your food choice, whether you are dining from the usual brasserie menu or selecting from Menu de Lionel.

We spy Spring!

Yes, it finally does appear to be on its way and to celebrate our Spring offer has been unveiled. From just £60 per person sharing a twin or double room, enjoy one night with a full English breakfast, including a bottle of bubbly on arrival and chocolate covered strawberries in your room.  That should put a Spring in your step!

Four shiny stars

The annual AA inspection gave Wivenhoe House Hotel a sparkling thumbs-up. We maintained our AA four star rating and increased our merit score to 84 per cent, the maximum score for a four-star property.

History in the making

Wivenhoe House and its beautiful parkland surroundings share an action packed history which will be brought to life at our first Heritage Tea and Tour of the House on Wednesday 13 June. History detectives and professional tour guides Claire Partner and Ian Baalham will bring the fascinating tales to life as you explore the hotel and then tuck into our delicious afternoon tea.

Movie magic in Wivenhoe

Wivenhoe Film Festival takes to the stage later this month, showcasing ten true stories and documentaries between April 20 and 29 including All The President’s Men and The Death of Stalin. We are delighted to be one of the sponsors of this free to view season and, as always, our brasserie will be open for a pre-screening dinner to make the evening complete.

Bountiful bubbles

We’ve a few spaces left for our first Pamper and Prosecco lunch on Tuesday 15 May. Enjoy canapes with your Prosecco as you browse among our specially selected exhibitors featuring beauty and wellness experts. Then there is time to relax over a delicious two course lunch in the beautiful surroundings of Wivenhoe House.

Wedding open morning

Our next wedding open morning is on Sunday 15 April.  Pay us a visit between 10am and 1pm to see the hotel dressed up in its wedding finery, giving you a perfect picture of how beautiful it will look on your special day.
