Celebrate Mothering Sunday at Wivenhoe House with by treating mum to afternoon tea in the lounge or a traditional roast dinner in the brasserie including a free gift for Mum
Sunday 6 March 2016
Dating back to just before Wivenhoe House was built, Mothering Sunday was celebrated annually on the fourth Sunday of Lent (the 40 day period leading up to Easter) to honor mothers. After a prayer service in church to honor Virgin Mary, children brought gifts and flowers to pay tribute to their own mothers.
Join us here at Wivenhoe House this year to celeberate Mothering Sunday with a relaxed afternoon tea or meal in the brasserie
