Easter is here and there are many eggcelent events happening around Colchester over the Easter weekend and half term to celebrate.

Colchester Castle is holding an Easter Egg Trail, where you and your family can marvel at what Colchester has to offer. Pick up a trail between 28th March and the 8th April from the Castle and follow the eggs around the museum for a chance to win a giant Easter egg.

Continuing on this theme, throughout the holidays Beth Chatto Gardens are hosting an Easter egg hunt from the 25th March until the 10th April, where there is the chance to explore the gardens themselves whilst your little ones search for the hidden eggs. Whereas, the Natural History Museum are putting on an eggstravaganza on the 6th April, with a twist on the traditional Easter eggs with the opportunity to paint a striking Easter egg to decorate your house with this Easter. Keep the kids entertained or have a go yourself and release your inner artistic flare.

If you fancy a break from the Easter activities Colchester Castle is giving you the opportunity to create your own ode to the Fenwick Hoard Roman Jewellery, on the 8th April you can make your own Jewellery Box. They are also giving you the opportunity to handle some of the ancient roman artefacts. If you are interested in the Fenwick Jewels or are feeling creative, and perhaps you fancy learning more about Colchester’s vast history pop down.

We are also running an Easter competion with the opportunity to win a three course meal for four in the brasserie. Please follow this link to enter
