CURRENT VACANCIES

CONFERENCE AND EVENTS OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for setting up and running events on the day which include corporate meetings, banquets, civil wedding ceremonies and wedding parties. You will also be required to liaise with the hotel team to deliver service excellence whilst maximising revenue opportunities. In addition you will have responsibility for motivating and developing Edge Hotel School students whilst they are part of the C&E team. If you have experience in a similar position, are highly organised and have excellent communication skills, this could be the opportunity for you to be part of this unique and exciting operation.

Salary; £19,816 – £21,653 per annum

Bar & Restaurant Supervisor (x2)

We are looking to recruit a Bar and Restaurant Supervisor to join our team in a busy and challenging environment. Wivenhoe House Hotel, a 4 star country house hotel, home of the Edge Hotel School, has 40 bedrooms/suites, 120 cover banqueting and conference facilities and 110 cover Brasserie. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to progress their career within Hospitality.

Candidates must have experience of supervising staff in a similar role within the hospitality industry. An NVQ level 5 in hospitality or equivalent qualification would be preferred and candidates will ideally hold a personal licence (NCPLH). The ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills is essential.

Salary; £17,606 – £19,141 per annum

Housekeeper/Porter

The successful candidate will be required to clean rooms/suites, change bed linen and towels, and to undertake cleaning duties throughout the Hotel to an agreed standard. If you have previous cleaning experience, can work flexibly which could include working some late shifts, have an attention for detail and can deliver excellent customer service this could be the opportunity for you to be part of this unique and exciting operation.

Salary; £15,643 per annum

Chef De Partie

This is an exciting opportunity for aspiring chefs to join our team in a busy and challenging environment which includes a 110 cover modern Brasserie and 120 cover banqueting facilities. The successful candidates will be part of a large brigade of chefs working with students of the Edge Hotel School. If you are proactive, ambitious, have an eye for detail and a real passion for creating fresh, locally sourced dishes then we’d like you to join our team. Candidates will have experience as a Chef at a similar level and may hold a relevant NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent, be able to work in a team and work with students.

Salary;£17,606 per annum

Whether approaching Wivenhoe House from London and the South or Ipswich and the North via the A12, take the exit marked Colchester (A133). Follow the A133 towards Clacton, ignore the entrance to the Knowledge Gateway, continue along the A133 then take the B1028 for Wivenhoe before turning right into Boundary Road, then right again into Park Road. The entrance for Wivenhoe House is shared with the University of Essex but Park Road leads you through Wivenhoe Park and you will be able to see the glorious house from the road.

By train:

Colchester station, Colchester Town station, Wivenhoe station and Hythe stations are all between 10-15 minutes from Wivenhoe House by car. Trains run between London (Liverpool Street) and Colchester station every 10-20 minutes. The journey takes around an hour. Also connect with Colchester from Norwich, Ipswich, Felixstowe & Harwich. Some trains from London (Liverpool Street) also stop at Wivenhoe Station. When travelling from the Clacton/Walton direction, alight at Wivenhoe or Hythe Stations.


By plane:

Stansted airport is approximately 45 minutes from Wivenhoe House by car. Helicopter pad coordinates are 603200/223900.
